I think I’d still jump at the opportunity to play the course in this condition!

How’d you get on the course to take these?

    Hi Deron,

I have a friend who knows somebody on the greens staff and he was kind enough to send them to me. Can you imagine how beautiful they would be if they were quick thinking and called in a really good photographer to take shots like this?
I am fortunate in that I have been able to play there quite a few times. I actually played two weeks before these pics were taken and that’s how I got my shots for the “Augusta in Winter” post.
    Thanks for reading.

That’s awesome, Andrew! You’re right, the shots would be amazing if they were to call in someone professional to take them. Wish they would allow more stuff like that, but I understand why they don’t.

Unbelievable that you’ve played the course on more than one occasion. I’d give a finger to be able to play it once. I went down to the Monday practice round last year and was in awe of the place. I called to see about volunteering as that’s likely the only shot I’ll ever have at playing the course, but found out that even volunteering isn’t likely in ones lifetime. I know some people that could get my name on the volunteer waiting list (volunteers themselves) but the lady I spoke with acted like I’d have a better chance at winning the lottery. haha. On top of that volunteering is a whole week ordeal and with hotel prices down there being $400+ per night, that can get real expensive, really quick.

Have you played West Lake down there in Augusta? We were able to play it last year on Sunday before the Monday practice round. Interesting to hear some of the stories coming from that place about how the pros go there to practice to get away from the media, etc. Nice course too although no where near as green as Augusta (they must dye the grass green there… lol)
